A new wedding custom is on the rise. It’s called the Unity in Glass ceremony. It started a few short years ago when a creative bride wanted a hand-blown vase made from the sand of their sand ceremony. Today, instead of sand, the wedding couple choose and combine different color glass crystals that are specially formulated for glass blowing.
The tradition is that each sparkling piece of glass represents a unique and separate moment, decision, feeling or experience and are raw, unfinished elements independent of each other. When the crystals are blended into a common vessel it represents those independent paths becoming one, unique only to them. It also represents their unconditional love that will endure difficult times just as the crystals must to become a beautiful work of art. This beautiful piece of art will always remind them of their love and remind them that no matter what, they will get through anything.
There are a few companies out there these days that you can choose from to get the crystals and the art of hand-blowing, but the best is still the company who started it all.
