PART 2- Google Search Answers
Just a quick note before you read on. Each state has its own regulations and requirements for someone to perform a legal and binding wedding. Please make sure the person you choose is authorized to marry you.
The list below isn’t a comprehensive list, it includes the most common “Someone’s” who perform weddings.
Ordained clergy- Although the clergy can and do perform wedding outside of their church building, most of the time they're performing wedding at their church. They also provide marital counseling for couple as well (if the couple desires).
Officiant- An officiant can be ordained or not. They're usually traveling to their weddings. Traveling can be within the area (parks, venues, backyards, etc) or outside of their city/state.
Justice of the peace- Generally speaking, these folks are only performing weddings at a local government office.
