PART 4 - Google Seach Answers
Since I've already spent some time on the idea of a backyard wedding in a previous blog, I decided to repost it for you to review...
Choosing a venue can be tricky sometimes. Nowadays, with the high costs, hidden costs and restrictions associated with a venue, a lot of couples are looking for alternative locations to get married. There are so many choices available to couples, but today I just want to focus of the pros and cons of choosing to have a backyard wedding.
Pros - Cost Control
The title of “Cost Control” is carefully chosen because having a backyard wedding doesn’t necessarily mean less expensive, it means you have control over how you choose to focus your expenses. With a venue comes a price sheet and more times than not your only choice is to go down the list and say yes or no to including each item and to accept the cost the venue has assigned to each of those items. I had one bride tell me the only way she would be allowed to cut her own wedding cake would be to pay the venue a fee.
Pro - Having control means you:
1~ Have no venue cost
2~ Can choose to focus on where you want to save more or pay a little extra (decoration, flowers, favors and/or entertainment).
3~ Pay less for Alcoholic drinks
4~ The skies the limit with regards to your spending amount for food. It really depends on you taste and your budget. Here are just a few ideas:
a~ Prepare the food yourself (with the help of the right people)
b~ Hiring one or multiple food trucks
c~ Have it catered
d~ Choose whether to jus have appetizers or a full meal
Pro - Style Control
You are not limited by what the venue has to offer:
1~ You have the freedom to choose your wedding date
2~ You’re not limited rules (like being required to vacate the facility by a certain time)
3~ You have more freedom to decorate as fancy or casual as you’d like.
Cons - Extra Expenses
1~ You will need to consider renting tables and chairs
2~ If you’re event is at night you may need to look into extra lighting
Con - Your Location
1~ How will your neighbors react to the traffic and noise?
2~ Is there enough parking for the number of people you have invited?
Overall I would say the "Pros" outshine the "Cons"!
